About
Live and Learn Live and Learn Resource Centre is a community based project initiated by Metcalfe Co-op Nursery School Inc., who received start-up funding from the Ontario Early Years Challenge Fund over a two-year period beginning April 2002 and ending March 2004. The $176 000 grant paid for renovating half of the lower level of the Metcalfe Client Service Centre, furnishing the space, purchasing resources, and covering salaries, administration and operating expenses. |
|
The mission of our early childhood and parenting centre is to build community, remove barriers, and lessen isolation by providing a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for people to meet each other, access, resources, and share experiences and knowledge. Families who participate in our programs and use our services have the opportunity to develop a social support network, improve parenting skills, and enhance the activities they share with their children at minimal cost.
We serve families in rural Osgoode Ward, which includes the communities of Metcalfe, Kenmore, Marvelville, Marionville, Vernon, Osgoode, Enniskerry, Manotick Station, Greely, and Edwards, as well as surrounding areas.
We have provided services to over 500 children and more than 250 families.
