Toy Library
Play is an essential part of a child's normal development and toys are an integral part of play. Toys help children explore new worlds and master new skills in an entertaining and fun way. Toys assist in stimulating the child's growth - intellectually, physically and socially.

Toys are selected to be:
• Developmentally appropriate; geared to the child’s age and abilities
• High quality toys in great condition
• Challenging for your child, but not frustrating
• Stimulating, Interesting & Appealing
• Interactive, Creative & Fun
• Tools for learning and promoting growth in all developmental areas

Benefits to becoming a Toy Library member:
• The ability as a parent or childcare provider to offer your children a wider variety and a better rotation of toys
• Involving your children in making the borrowing choices
• Teaching your children the value of borrowing
• Saving Money. Instead of purchasing new toys, use Toy Library to try out different toys, find out what your child is interested in before you make a purchase
• Borrowing toys for visiting relatives or friends

The Toy Library has over 300 carefully selected toys, toy sets, puzzles, games & “Theme Boxes” for loan to members.

AGREEMENT & GUIDELINES
• Toy Library application must be completed and paid for prior to borrowing toys.
• Toys are signed out for a 2 week period. Toys must be returned complete, clean & on time. Toys are sanitized before lending and should be washed before being returned (instructions included with membership application).
• Only two toys or one theme box may be borrowed at a time.
• All toys must be returned before another one is borrowed.
• Appropriately supervise the use of Toy Library toys and accept responsibility for the safe use of all toys borrowed.
• Check toy list to ensure all pieces are returned with toy as well as bags, instructions, and lists.
• There will be a replacement charge for lost or broken toys. Some normal wear is expected. A toy that is missing pieces, which render the toy unusable, will also need to be paid for or reasonable replacement pieces need to be found.
• Members are responsible for providing their own batteries.

Come join the Toy Library and choose from over 300 toys for newborns and up to age 6. There are also some toys that your children aged 7-10 might enjoy.

Membership is $30.00 per year per family. All money raised from membership fees will go toward purchases of toys.

Toy library memberships may be purchased anytime the Resource Centre is open.
