| Rural Family Connections (RFC) is a Metcalfe-based non-profit organization offering parenting resources, early learning and childcare programs. Originally starting as the Metcalfe Cooperative Nursery School (MCNS), this organization has been supporting young families in the community since1979. The Metcalfe Home Daycare was established in 1987 followed by the Live and Learn Resource Centre in 2002. The RFC was incorporated in 2005 and is the umbrella organization that now houses all 3 programs. RFC is committed to providing community-based services to young families in rural Ottawa South. It strives to provide valuable programs that are easily accessible and readily available to all rural residents and ensures they have the same opportunities as families in urban centres. RFC seeks to create a sense of community and belonging amongst residents that are often geographically dispersed. The focus of RFC is primarily on young children and the empowerment of their families and community to give them the best start in life. Back to main page. | |||||
