Licensed under the Ministry of Education, and part of the Canada Wide Early Learning & Childcare program, we proudly serve an expanding South Ottawa community including, Ward 10 (Gloucester-Southgate), Ward 18 (Alta Vista), Ward 20(Osgoode), Ward 22 (Riverside South-Findlay Creek).

Why Choose Us?

  • We support safe, engaging, quality care for children ages 0- 12 years old in a welcoming home setting.

  • We start the intake process with an Intake Questionnaire to best match Providers & families based on their childcare needs.

  • We assist in setting up and conducting post – interview follow ups with the family and prospective Home Childcare Provider.

  • The Home Childcare Consultants complete monthly support visits and the quarterly Ministry of Education safety inspection.

  • The Home Childcare Consultants are Registered Early Childhood Educators.

  • Home Childcare Providers must have an up-to-date Vulnerable Sector Check completed every five years along with an annual Offence Declaration.

  • Home Childcare Providers are certified with the Standard First Aid/CPR training renewed every three years.

  • Home Childcare Providers have a maximum six (6) children of which only 3 children can be under the age of 2 years old.

  • Flexible childcare is available: evenings, weekends, and extended hours.

  • Rural Family Connections is part of the Canada Wide Early Learning Child Care (CWELCC) plan offering full time childcare at a reduced rate.

  • Subsidized childcare spaces are available for qualified residents of Ottawa.

  • If the regular Home Childcare Provider is closed, your assigned Home Childcare Consultant will arrange alternate care if required.

  • The Home Childcare Consultants provide ongoing support and strategies for behaviour challenges, nutrition habits, toilet training, communication skills, and safety concerns.

Apply for Registry with full fee or fee subsidy and be put on a waitlist by completing one application.

Please contact us to discuss the option of Licensed Home Childcare with a carefully selected provider. One of the main reasons families favour RFC- Home Childcare is the relationship with families, providers and Home Childcare Consultants.
