November 20 marks the anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), adopted in 1989. Canada joined the CRC in 1991, committing to uphold the rights of every child, ensuring they are protected from harm, their basic needs are met, and they have meaningful opportunities to be heard.

This is a time to recognize children as active participants in their own lives and as valuable contributors to their communities. When we listen to and respect children’s voices, we help create a world where they can thrive and reach their full potential.
